Assignment #4
Video Commentaries
Weighted 35%

Note this will be updated as we build the rubric and decide on the grading parameters in class.
  • For this assignment you will be creating 2 video commentaries on 2 different equity articles of your choice.
    • Commentary 1 due Nov. 8 (15%)
    • Commentary 2 due Dec. 2 (20%)
In the first 3 weeks of class you will learn what a commentary is and how to write/create a commentary. We will decide on the criteria for grading together as a class (after you learn about commentaries of course :).

Below are the baseline criteria for what will be expected. We will develop more criteria as we develop the grading criteria:
  • No more than 3 people in a group
  • Commentary should be based on an article/book that has to do with something we learned in the course/ or is an extension of something we learned.
    • The article is your choice (as a group)
    • If you need recommendations ask me, but do some research first
    • The article cannot be from a predatory/ journal or publisher
      • If you are unsure confirm with me
    • The article should be academic and blind peer-reviewed (by at least 2 people)
  • You will have to create a 5-10 min. video
    • All images should be copyright free
  • You will need a transcript/paper to submit with your video
    • You will need to have other academic sources (aprox. 5- but we will decide on the number together)
    • Paper should be at least 5 pages double spaced and not including references
  • Everything needs to be APA formatted- Video and Paper
